Data about pastoral care is extremely needed, especially in Brazil. To do
such a work, partnership with other ministries that have the same concerns about
ministers’ life and family, and pastoral care will be required. The workers
who are in the “front lines of the Kingdom” -local churches - need to be
heard and all the expectations and experiences need to be systematized. The lack
of investment in surveys contributes for the repetition of mistakes. Somebody
already said that the human being is the only one who falls more than one time
in the same pit.
The records kept by MFA are a good source for this data. Each course taken,
each filled out file or each book acquired could give us information that will
help us to design a profile showing the concerns and needs of a pastor and
pastors in general.
Money is one of the biggest challenges for the development of serious surveys
in Brazil. We still do not have a “survey culture” that leads people to
invest their resources on them. Our prayer is that God raise friends of pastors
