There is one thing more important than training pastors - is praying for them
[1]. This is another area overlooked by local churches. Ministers need
prayers for their protection, anointment, and prevention of troubles. One of the
best ways to gather intercessors is to help pastors themselves to be conscious
of their need of prayer and to demonstrate a sincere awareness of their
limitations and dependency on God. Who feels like praying for somebody that
knows everything and who does not need anything? Here are some motives to seek
intercession (Carpenter, DCPI):
- Spiritual battle exposition
- Family pressures
- Financial worries
- Unreal expectations
- Dealing with interpersonal conflicts
- Isolation
All events, publications, and actions promoted by MFA will have a
considerable emphasis, time and resources dedicated to the intercessors
mobilization for ministers.
