Studies conducted by Topic Brasil have shown that pastors want to receive ministerial training. Information about training opportunities and financial help is what is missing. Through MFA this information will reach pastors and MUS will supply what was missing for a ministerial regular updating. It has been proved that 100% of pastors will take advantage of training opportunities when they are offered.

Pastors not only desire, but also need to be updated. They should be prepared to act in a globalized world that is changing fast and greatly. All areas are investing time and money in the updating of their professionals, when most ministers work only with the seminary course they took years ago. Updating is not only a pastor’s need but also a church one. Training helps to avoid mistakes. Who never perceived a pastor’s mistake that could be avoided if he had received more advice? Ministers’ mistakes have scatological repercussion.

A MUS could be acquired by pastors who want to invest in training, by churches that want to invest in their pastors and by friends of pastors who want to give a gift to workers with financial limitations. A businessman, for instance, could donate several MUS to workers from a poor or strategic area.

A MUS could be paid in six installments of R$40,00. This amount will be totally used for events expenses, including congresses enrollment fees, courses, books, hotels recommended by MFA. The recipient of a scholarship will also get (when they are offered):

  1. A bulletin with all training opportunities offered in Latin America

  2. Free books (the first one will be out probably in March 2003)

  3. Books discounts;

  4. Resources at the home page of the pastor ( in process)

  5. An opportunity to choose from a list of recommended training events the ones that suits him better

  6. Better prices at hotels and air companies (which have a partnership with MFA)

  7. Participation in drawings for free vacation donated by those hotels.

Many times the expenses with a good event may be bigger than the MUS (R$ 240,00). Even though, this amount is normally enough for basic motivation. If the church, a friend or even the minister can afford to pay R$ 40,00 a month, the worker will have two MUS or R$ 480,00. For most people taking this amount from the budget at once is difficult, even to churches, but monthly payments can be easily incorporated to the budget. This will create a continuous investment fund for ministerial updating. If an event costs more than what a pastor has in his account (he may have as many MUS as he wants) he or his church will have to pay for the difference. If it costs less, the balance destined to training events will be accumulated for the next semester and distributed according to the same percentage of the MUS.

MUS acquired by churches and missionary organizations will be transferred as their staff is altered.

God has raised people with great vision. They ask how they can maximize the use of their resources to change the world with the Gospel. It is a reasonable question. If I can use my money to help in the salvation of 100 people, why would I invest it in saving 50? A believer, a church, an organization, or a company may offer a MUS to one, ten, 50, 100, or even to 1000 pastors.
